What to expect from a Sunekos course

Consultation & preparation

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E and fish oil for 48 hours beforehand where it is safe to stop them, since the eye area bruises readily. Come with no eye makeup and remove contact lenses before your appointment.

What is Sunekos?

Sunekos is an injectable that pairs non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid with a patented blend of six amino acids. Collagen and elastin are proteins, and proteins are built from amino acids, so supplying those building blocks directly gives the skin what it needs to regenerate its own supporting structure. It is a regenerative treatment rather than a volumising one.

Why use it around the eyes?

Because the problem in that area is usually skin quality rather than lost volume. Crepiness, fine lines and a dull, tired texture come from a thinning dermis, and adding a structural gel does not fix that. Sunekos improves the tissue itself. Where there is genuine hollowing as well, Dr Harriet will assess whether tear trough filler or polynucleotides should be part of the same plan.

What does a course involve?

Treatment is delivered through a series of small superficial injections around the eye area and takes only a short time. A course is recommended rather than a single session, which is why the pricing is structured as an initial session followed by additional sessions. Results develop across the course as the skin responds, so the outcome is assessed at the end rather than after the first appointment.

Aftercare

Small injection marks and mild swelling around the eyes settle within 24 to 72 hours. Avoid eye makeup for 12 hours and skip saunas, steam rooms, intense exercise and alcohol for 24 hours. Skin quality improves gradually across the course rather than immediately.

What is the difference between Sunekos and tear trough filler?

Tear trough filler replaces lost volume in the hollow beneath the eye, changing where the skin sits. Sunekos improves the quality of the skin itself by supplying the amino acids needed to rebuild collagen and elastin. One addresses shadow caused by hollowing, the other addresses crepey texture and fine lines.

Is Sunekos suitable if I have very thin under-eye skin?

That is precisely the situation it suits. Thin, crepey periocular skin often responds poorly to conventional filler, which can look lumpy or cast its own shadow. Sunekos works on the tissue rather than under it. Dr Harriet will assess your skin at consultation and tell you honestly which approach fits.

Is there downtime after Sunekos?

Minimal. Expect small injection marks and possibly mild swelling or occasional bruising around the eyes, settling within 24 to 72 hours. The eye area bruises more readily than most, so avoid booking treatment immediately before an important event and allow a few days of flexibility.

Can Sunekos be combined with other eye treatments?

Yes. Dr Harriet frequently combines treatments in the under-eye area, using polynucleotides and dermal filler alongside each other where a patient has both poor skin quality and genuine hollowness. She will sequence the plan at consultation so each treatment can be assessed on its own merits.
